It's a 1996 T&C lx And the front breaks are sticking.I can go maybe 10 miles or so before they start sticking then i can let it set for about an hour then they will be unstuck.People tell me it's the calipers or the break booster,I've already spent 7.000.00 on this thing and i don't want to spend anymore cause I'm getting rid of it.I guess what I'm asking is a quick fix. Any suggestions?

  1. A bad master cylinder will do this.  You should check for a recall:

  2. it,s the calipers. the calipers are sticking part of the time. it might not be the piston that,s sticking, but the caliper might be hanging up on the anchor where the caliper slides on. take the calipers off, take some sandpaper and clean the anchors and use a small amount of high temperature grease on where the calipers rest on, so they can slide.

  3. mr t  got a point

here how to check it no cost

pump the brake till wheel can move

if more then 1 wheel stick

faulty pressure valve . master cyl

    if only 1 wheel

open bleeder s***w on caliper if wheel get lose   prob hose.

if  not  lose u need caliper

    GOOD LUCK

  4. getting rid of it is probably the right answer... you shoulda done that before the 7K as that van is only worth about 4K right now...

  5. Replace the flexible brake hoses.  The brake fluid causes the liner to swell shut.  The pressure from the master cylinder is greater then the relaxing calipers. The fluid can enter but can not escape.
