Chu-Young Park arrives at LOSC Lille for medical – Ligue 1 news
After lengthy negotiations, AS Monaco striker Chu-Young Park is on the verge of joining reigning French Ligue 1 champions LOSC Lille. The South Korean international is currently at Lille for a medical.
Rudi Garcia, coach of Les Dogues has made no secret of his desire to sign an extra striker and has been linked with the likes of Mevlut Erdinç, Hadji and Hoarau. Chu-Young Park has long since been linked with a move to Stade Metropole Villeneuve d’Ascq.
However, negotiations between the two clubs for the sale of the 26-year-old had stumbled due to the amount demanded by Monaco for their prized asset. AS Monaco were demanding at least six million Euros while Lille were willing to spend just 1.5 million Euros
for the South Korean international.
However, a compromise has been reached between the two parties and Lille will pay AS Monaco three million Euros for the services of Young.
The South Korean is expected to have a medical on Friday before he signs a three-year deal with the club. Reports suggest that Park will earn 190,000 Euros per month at Lille. The signing of the experienced striker can be considered as one of the best bargains
made by Garcia who has already signed Rodelin, Payet and Pedretti this summer.
Meanwhile, it is looking more and more likely that last season’s highest scorer in the Ligue 1, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Moussa-Sow-c26939 will stay at LOSC Lille following rumours that the Senegalese international was looking to move away from the club.
Paris Saint-Germain in their hunt for a new striker were reportedly linked with a move for the former Stade Rennais man but after being promised to be given a new contract with better terms, Sow is likely to stay with the French champions. Though negotiations
are yet to start, it is quite clear that Lille will do everything they can in order to hold on to Moussa Sow who scored 25 goals for Les Dogues in the club’s successful 2010/2011 campaign during which Lille did a domestic double.
