Chuang/ Date-Krumm defeat Pliskova sisters in 1st round – Hansol Korea Open 2011 
Czech pair of Kristyna Pliskova with Karolina Pliskova expelled Japanese Kimiko Date-Krumm with Taipei Chia-Jung Chuang in the doubles opening round of the Hansol Korea Open 2011. On 21st of September 2011 the squads battled it out for fifty five minutes of the match and the last team standing was the Japanese and Taipei brass with straight sets victory of 6-3, 6-3.
Commencing the first set was the Japanese/ Taipei duo, after winning the pitch they held their serve in the first game so did the Czech pair. However, the players broke each other back-to-back and rounded the score at 2-2.
Chuang/ Date-Krumm made a comeback in the fifth game by winning on their service game and they were now leading with a 3-2. They then broke the Czech pair during the sixth game and were now two games up. However, the Pliskova sisters immediately broke back in the eighth game to only win another game in the set.
By the end of the eighth game Chuang/ Date-Krumm were now serving for the opening set and as they hit a big crosscourt backhand, they sealed their opening set victory.
Inaugurating the second set was team Czech, who were not able to hold their own in the opening round but Chuang/ Date-Krumm got off to a great start as they broke their adversaries early for the first time in the second set and as they won on their service game, they took a mini lead of 2-0.
Although, a little late in the match, the Czech pair finally leaped back into the set in the third and fourth game by holding their serve for the first time and breaking the Japanese/ Taipei to round off the score at 2-2. By the fifth game the sisters were again broken by Chuang and Date-Krumm and they then held serve to lead the game with a 4-2.
During the remaining three games Chuang and Date-Krumm pushed a notch higher, as they were able to break their Czech adversaries. After holding their serve in the eighth game, they were looking to win the match point on their rival’s serve in the ninth game and they grabbed the first opportunity to get the better of the Pliskova sisters by forcing an error from them to surmount an easy victory of 6-3.
The Japanese and Taipei duo will now be facing third seeded Czech team of Iveta Benesova with Klara Zakopalova.
