Question:

Chuck E Cheese- please read?

Okay, last time I forgot to ask my question. The Chuck E Cheese in my area is wanting to add beer and wine to its menu which upsets me because parents already get rude with one another over games and tickets. I can't imagine how unsafe it will become with the alcohol. This is a military town and I worry about the effects of alcohol in this place. I realize some Chuck E Cheeses already have it on their menus.

My question is.... Has it made a different in the environment for the kids? Do you have a high rate of drinking and driving in the area due to this? Is your area a military town with young parents? If you think this is a bad idea, would you be willing to email them and tell them?

Sorry I forgot my questions in my last post.

Thank you.

  1. are you kidding me? worry about your perfect little self first, many adults can have a glass of beer or wine with a meal and not get drunk or go crazy, go bark up a different tree, so many other problems in the world left for you to solve, stop wasting your time on legal alcohol in a restaurant....i am a parent i have had my daughters birthday parties at the big cheese and i was in the military and live on and off base.

  2. I totally agree with you!!!!  omg the first time I went I was shocked this is allowed when parents are driving their children home after drinking???  Why MADD hasn't boycotted them is beyond me???  Get in touch with them and see how they can help.  I am so proud of you!!!

  3. You are a very mature and smart young lady - we need more like you.

I don't know first-hand of how 'Chuck E Cheese' is these days but I would have to believe that serving alcohol has changed the environment and cannot imagine that has enriched the experience for youngsters.

All areas of the country can be assumed to have high levels of drinking and driving - one accident anywhere is too many.  Mix a family outing with alcohol among young parents and there is a temptation that can easily get out of hand.

I think alcohol in a Chuck E Cheese restaurant is a bad idea because it goes against the original premise of the place.  I am sure they are striving to remain profitable, but it changes the basic nature of the place unfavorably and makes it something different from what was intended.  Bad message, cannot be viewed as not having some adverse effect on safety.

Good question - and keep up your awareness campaign.  That will help even if they continue to serve it.  And yes, I am willing to e-mail them - I will find out what the one in our area does, but in either case will state my view.

    Good luck.

  4. yes, because the more they see their parents drink the more they want to do it. its like their parents are their role models and they want to do everything like them.
