Chuiev Elias dominates Men’s 200m butterfly title: Day one – 2012 Ukraine Summer Cup
Chuiev Elias of ANW dominated the finals of Men’s 200m butterfly by winning gold medal on day one of the 2012 Ukraine Summer Cup in Kharkiv on Monday, May 7.
Elias, who recently captured gold medal of the 100m butterfly at the championship, devastated his opponents by snaring gold medal of the 200m event.
With his epic start, he remained prominently ahead of his challengers from the start and cruised his way towards the finishing end with the timing of 1 minute and 58.88 seconds.
He was followed by D Alexander of DPR, who stayed nearly four seconds behind and emerged on the finishing end for second position by clocking a time of 2 minutes and 02.03 seconds.
The silver medallist was followed by Shemberev Maxim of Cues, who stayed just 0.39 seconds apart and transpired on the finishing wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 02.42 seconds.
The third position holder remained almost 0.60 seconds faster from Alexander Vassiliev of PFA, who failed to overwhelm his preceding swimmer and settled on the finishing blockade as fourth best swimmer with the timing of 2 minutes and 03.05 seconds.
Fifth best spot of the event of the event was trailed by Zagoruyko Bogdan of CLC, who suffered a loss of almost 2.50 seconds and made his way towards the finishing end with the timing of 2 minutes and 05.82 seconds.
Bogdan was followed by his team-member, Mikhailov Paul, who completed his swim in sixth best place by reporting a time of 2 minutes and 06.10 seconds.
With his exhausting efforts, he managed to outperform his strongest rival, Krypak Maxim over the finishing end with a margin of 0.13 seconds. Maxim stayed nearly one stroke slower from his former finisher and posted a time of 2 minutes and 06.23 seconds for seventh position.
Last position of the distant butterfly discipline was obtained by Savenkov Vladislav, who posted a time of 2 minutes and 09.30 seconds for eighth position.
Furthermore, the position holders received awards and accolades for their notable efforts in the 200m butterfly at the prize distribution ceremony of the championship.
