Chun Hei Lee and Hoi Wah Chau earn glory at Yonex Canada Open 2013 – Badminton News
Hong Kong’s seasoned badminton players, Chun Hei Lee and Hoi Wah Chau, stayed on the right track and earned glory by winning Mixed Doubles title at Yonex Canada Open 2013 on Sunday, July 21, in Canada.
In the title match, Chun Hei and Hoi Wah showed a wonderful aggression on court and outplayed Netherlands’ Jorrit De Ruiter and Samantha Barning in a completely dominating manner.
Chun Hei and Hoi Wah, who were top seeds in Mixed Doubles main draw, played with staggering precision and they easily overpowered their third seeded rivals by consuming just 27 minutes in the arena.
The aggressive Chun Hei and Hoi Wah dominated the pace from the starting points till the end of the battle. They finished off this final encounter in a commanding fashion with a stunning 21-13 and 21-10 score on the board.
Meanwhile, the lower ranked Jorrit De and Samantha could not put up strong show and remained completely helpless against the aggressive play of their Hong Kong rivals. They bowed down without putting up strong fight.
In the first game, Chun Hei and Hoi Wah did not take much time in setting up a comfortable lead. They were quick in front court and also were in control from the back of the court. Until the one-minute interval, they took a superb
lead on the score board.
After the one-minute break, Chun Hei and Hoi Wah stayed focused on court and they did not let their lower ranked opponent to close the gap at any stage. They easily bagged the first game with a staggering total of 21-13.
The following game was even worst for the Dutch couple as they could not stop the progress of their rivals even for a few minutes. They remained miles behind Chun Hei and Hoi Wah until the one-minute interval.
Meanwhile, the top seeds sailed smoothly as they did not slow down their speed at any stage and remained on the driving seat.
After the break, Chun Hei and Hoi Wah maintained their aggression without facing any considerable trouble from their challengers. They dictated the pace of rallies throughout the concluding part and wrapped up the game with a one-sided
margin of 21-10.
