Chun Seang Tan ousts Thomas Rouxel to penetrate into semi-final at Bulgarian Hebar Open 2012
Malaysia’s talented shuttler Chun Tan Seang continued his tremendous run and secured his place in Men’s Singles quarter-final after defeating Thomas Rouxel of France in the quarter-final showdown at Bulgarian Hebar Open 2012 in Bulgaria, on Saturday, May
26.
Chun Seang, who has been seeded at the top in Men’s Singles main draw of the tournament, had to dig into his arsenal to overpower Rouxel who was the fifth seed in the draw.
The top seeded Malaysian showed his hard-to-learn skills in the court and remained successful in beating his French rival in three games while taking 62 minutes in the court.
On the other hand, the fifth seeded Rouxel played to his maximum potential and also took the first set but failed to continue his roller coaster performance in the following games and lost the match in three sets.
In the opening set, Chun Seang could not control the pace of rallies in starting points and also remained in trouble while taking the bird early.
Until the one-minute interval, the lower ranked French shuttler was leading on the score board.
After the break, Chun Seang tried to control the pace but failed to remain positive and made crucial mistakes and eventually lost the first game with a 17-21 score on the board.
In the following game, Chun Seang played better badminton by accelerating his speed and remained close to his lower ranked French rival until the mid-game break.
After the interval, the Malaysian injected power in his shots and also worked positively in all areas of the court. He was focused this time and managed to grab the set with a tight margin of 21-19.
In the deciding set, Chun Sean played on a completely different level as he did not spare any room for his French opponent and took an impressive lead until the break.
After the one-minute interval, the Malaysian continued his elevated performance in the court and remained successful in taking the deciding set with a striking score of 21-12.
Chun Seang emerged as the winner in this hard-fought quarter-final clash with a terrific margin of 17-21, 21-19 and 21-12.
