Question:

Chunky discharge, no bad odor...?

over the past few days, I've been having a reallllly chunky discharge - and by that, I mean there was no liquid; it seemed like wet, disintegrated toilet paper. I checked it out, and it smelled sweet - no foul odor. There was a little bit of itchiness periodically throughout the day, and a friend told me it could be a yeast infection. So, ignoring the package details, I tied Monistat 1 without consulting a M.D. (long weekend, I couldn't wait). Now, I have an extreme itchy, burning sensation that won't quit. Please help! I can't call my doc till tuesday!

  1. This could be the beginning of a yeast infection or a symptom of yeast intolerance, which is what I have (from an overload of antibiotics or overconsumption of wine, beer, and vinegar products).  Once I cut out yeasty foods, my symptoms cleared up.  Anyways, if you find yourself getting a lot of yeast infections...check for yeast intolerance.

  2. Sometimes those products can increase irritation before everything clears up completely.

  3. Well, until then, drink a lot of water (that will help flush anything bad out of your system) and - I know this sounds gross, but it helps - put a little cornstarch powder in your underwear, it will relieve the itching.
