Church Donation?

I recently joined a church and they recommend 10% of earnings for church contributions. However due to my finances, I can only give $40 a month.

At the beginning of the year, as a member I am suppose to pledge how much we can contribute a month. I respect and appreciate the church members, is there a way to tell them my situation? Thanks.
