Churchfield Champ in form for claiming the Sean Graham Bookmakers Handicap Hurdle at Sligo

Sligo will become home for the Sean Graham Bookmakers Handicap Hurdle over two miles on Wednesday, 23rd May. Competing for the €7,245 prize money are sixteen four-year and older runners.
The only candidate to have recently raced and won at Sligo is Churchfield Champ, Norwich’s six-year-old bay gelding gout of mare, Ash Dame. He burst into the 2012 season on 14th April in the
http://www.tramore-Racecourse.Com Maiden Hurdle at Tramore over two miles.
He ended fifth as the race was won by Coldstonesober who led the runner up, Passage Vendome, by two lengths.
The 2/1 favourite of the race, Boxer Beat, ended fourth.
He then made the most out of the second chance of the season and won the Follow Sligo Races Facebook Handicap Hurdle on 6th May at Sligo over two miles. Churchfield Champ was again paired up with B. M. Cash and the two led the field by two lengths.
Pink Goddess finished the closest while taking up the third slot was Strong Euro. The 11/4 favourite of the race, Theonewiththeleg, ended eighth on the track of fifteen.
He will be racing for a straight second time at Sligo and there can be nothing better than posting back to back wins at the same race course through the chance today.
Another interesting entry for the race is Fairymount Lord, Lord Americo’s nine-year-old grey gelding out of mare, Distant Hills. Two out of his three tries during the new season have been wins.
He scored second in the Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Hurdle on 17th March at Down Royal over two miles and four furlongs. The race was won by Smile Crocodile.
He was then the 6/4 favourite winner of the Cahore Point Handicap Hurdle on 20th April at Wexford over two miles and four furlongs. Riding with P. Carberry, he led the runner up, Vicalus, by one and a half length.
On 1st May, Fairymount Lord was entered as the 11/4 favourite of the Killeen Sports Grounds Handicap Hurdle at Ballinrobe over two miles. He led the track by a head’s difference and had Our Nana Rose, finishing the closest.
He can quite easily intimidate the other contestants but will have to try harder for subsiding Churchfield Champ.
