  1. a bull dog....

  2. Churchill hid in bunkers at dover during most of the war.

    No hero.

  3. A former admirer of Mussolini and even Hitler, two merciless dictators.

He knew F.D. Roosevelt was against maintaining the British Empire,

nevertheless he collaborated with the US president.Together with F.D. Roosevelt and Truman he sarificed Eastern Europe to bloody Josif  Vasirionoooooooooowitsch Shugashvili, Stalin. Ordered revengeful

and vindicative bombardments over Dresde some months before WWII

was finished. And only a short time after WWII invoked at Fulton Unk versity , USA, cold war reactions against Stalin speaking of the Iron Curtain .Where was the common sense of this nasty and ugly politician who too often in his life had changed colours, parties and sides and made away with so many decisive actions and questions

    for GB's sake and Europe's ?.

Only some years after WWII fell asunder the whole British Empire.

Where is the greatness of this great/little man?

  4. If you talking about Sir Winston Spencer Churchill the greatest leader and statesman of the 20th century then without a doubt a hero.

Even if you just speak about his daring escape from the Boers then that alone would make him a hero!!

Yes Ray his mother was a sensible woman indeed she came home.

Ray fear of death and a slap aint exactly high on my list and when i visit you that means you have to agree to a return visit with me.

  5. Hero

  7. Hero the P M N Chamberlain was a coward and wanted to surrender to Hitler But what you Brits did to him after the war was terrible

Bobby up there knows the reason he was a hero He knows the gene pool

  8. NO hero. A pretentious twonk who liked nothing better than endangering those around him by sticking himself in harm's way to LOOK heroic.

  9. A great leader during wartime.

  10. No hero to the Australians, I would imagine.

  11. Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill was a soldier and statesman in the true mould of Britain. To anyone who would question his courage let them ask of themselves, "Could I have done all that and never complained nor wished to be elsewhere?".

  12. Good question, however like all historical figures you have to look from different sides and judge for yourself. Always remember when reading history the writer who wrote it.

Ask England or any of the other "Allies" and the response will be overwhelming hero. No question as to his orator skills and leadership during WW2. England was being torn apart and he was the glue that helped hold the country together.

If you ask anybody from the colonies/countries that England was governing/ruling (India prime example) during his time and they will say definitely no hero. He (and many others in Parliament) belived in trying to hold onto their massive empire through force, rapping their colonies for resources and labor.

It is well documented that he was raciest, not in direct hatred between races but in arrogant "class"/evolution superiority. Also he is suspected of eugenics and supported gassing of the Kurds. All of which are very bad, though it was almost common thought during that time period. It is going to be interesting how history treats Churchill in the next 50 to 100 years as nostalgia wears thin.

My personal opinion is that he is a hero with allot of problems that are common for the time period.

    .

  13. A terrible racist who wanted to gas the Kurds

    Just a British Hitler really

"I am strongly in favour of using poisoned gas against uncivilised tribes."  The "Hero" Churchill

  14. I'd say a hero. He led the country through a horrendous conflict. Tough decisions, tough times. Hard to judge by today's standards.
