Is really fine white sand good for African Cichlids?

I just bought 3 bags and they're called Super Natural Marine Sand.

Its really fine and I just wanted to know if its alright for African Cichlids.

The pH of the water around where I live is high, so I don't think I need any grind coral to buffer the water.

  1. yes it is good for cichlid's ot gives them the proper ph that they need... you mentioned that The pH of the water around where u live is high id suggest going to walmart and buying distilled water its purified.. just a suggestion.

  2. After looking up the sand you mentioned, it is inert and will not affect the water in any way (it wouldn't matter if it did).  Sand is great for any Cichlid, but expect digging.  Make sure you have any decorations placed directly on the bottom glass, NOT sitting on the sand, as this often leads to collapse as the fish undermine their stability.
