Cigarette limit from usa to uk?

I've checked out other answers that are a year or two old so wondered if things had changed at all. How many cigarettes can i take from the U.S.A. to the U.K.?

  1. You can take as many as you can fit in your suitcase if you pay tax on them in the country of purchase.

    Tax free at the airport, 200 cigarettes.

  3. Wrong Derke N,  that only applies within the EU.  From outside the EU it's only 200 per passenger.

    But if you buy them within America and you have paid the duty on them then you can bring in as many as you want.

    As long as you can prove that they are for yourself, so i recommend sticking to 1 brand.

  9. BillyB8 is correct.  A couple of answerers are confusing EU regs with regard local tax with non EU duty free regs.
