Cigarette research? ?

im doing a research project on cigarettes and there is one that i am having trouble with. part of my research is to document how cigarettes are made, what is in/goes in them, etc.

i was watching the commentary on the movie "thirteen," and they said that what they were smoking were called "ecstasy cigarettes" i think, and they were filled with catnip.

I guess what im asking is

a) how are these made?

b) what are the health risks associated with these? [i.e: do they have the same health risks as regular cigarettes?]

c) are there any substances in them that shouldnt be there? [i.e: like how there is arsenic and nail polish remover in regular cigarettes?]

  1. What? doc_holliday1863 your an idiot.

A)They can be made with any combination of things usually ephedra, catnip, blue lotus, licorice root, skullcap and other 'natural' herbs

    B)Breathing problems, coughing, possibly cancer

C)No, burning anything makes 'dangerous' chemicals and problems for health (except marijuana), arsenic is not added to tobacco, it is made when tobacco burns for example.

They are generally disappointing and cause little psychological effects. They smell good though.

  2. Herbal Ecstasy (Cigarettes). 'Worthless c**p'

I'm sure they have tar in them like regular cigarettes and could lead to lung cancer.

And they do Warning: Smoking Kills. Herbal cigarettes are dangerous to your health. They contain tar and carbon monoxide.

marijuana produces chemicals when burned too.http://www.erowid.org/plants/cannabis/ca...
