Question:

Cigarettes - Throat Pain?

by  |  earlier

For the past 3 weeks my cigarette consumption has jumped about 50% (from 10 cigs per day to 15 per day) and my throat recently hurts badly. Feels like a sore throat you get during a flu/cold. Does anyone have a similar experience? Should I be worried about this, or is it normal for smokers? Thanks in advance!

  1. Your body/your throat is desperately trying to tell you something. Listen to the message....it says please be kind to me...I can't take this anymore.

  2. smoking  is  not  only  harmful    to   our  throats  ,but  also  to  our   body.   give  up  smoking,  and  eat  more     watermelon,                   bananas  ,   pears  ,  green   grams    soup   and   bitter   gourds  ,and  then   you'll    get            better.  It's  according  to  Chinese  Medicine.

  3. Well my friend. I would quit. This is a sign. I got something going on in my chest. It feels like a open sore in my windpipe. And I only smoked 4 years and I am 40+. So < I hope to god I did not do irreversible damage but I would throw the things away. I am going to do it.

  4. If you worry about a sore throat from smoking, how is it you don't seem worried about lung cancer, tongue cancer, gum cancer, emphysema.

Sore throat is most likely irritation, so think about how the rest of your internal self feels.

I quit 4 years ago, so I get to tell you, you should give it up now. I am including a link below in case you would like to see your future if you keep smoking.

  5. Take it as a warning that all is not well in la la land where ideally we can do what we want and suffer no consequences.

Cut back and see if it helps - better still see if you can get some help to quit - you will feel much better and also have lots more money for other pleasures in life too

There are many alternatives to just going cold turkey including prescriptions to help you quit thru to nicotine patches and also hypnotisim to name a few

A good site to help you choose

  6. Its one more reason why you should quit. And yes, its most likely smoking related.
