Cigarettes on a plane?

Okay, so I'm moving from the Northeast to San Francisco soon and I was wondering if anyone knows if it's okay to bring cigarettes on a plane. I was planning to pack them in the bag I check, I'm not going to put them in my carry-on bag but I wanted to know if there's some rule against that. I know you can't bring bottled water but is there a rule against cigarettes?

Its cool to bring your smokes also a lighter just not a butane torch lighter!!

yeah it`s fine, just don`t smoke any in the toilets. You might get pistol whipped and made to "walk the wing"

yea its fine, i brought cigarettes and a lighter on a plane last weekend and it was no problem

u can take cigarettes (doesnt matter how many) in ur carry on bags along with lighters

just cant smoke em on board. :(

You can bring cigarettes - just can't smoke them.
