Cigarini surprised with national team call-up and eyeing a long term: Serie A news

Cigarini joined the Serie A newcomer’s on-loan from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 before the start of the ongoing season and has impressed everyone with his displays. The midfielder’s inspirational performances helped his side in getting off to a flying start in the campaign.
The 25-year-old revealed that he was over the moon when he learnt about his call-up and he is determined to impress everyone with his performances in order to secure a long term place in the Giro Azzurri setup.
The former Parma star is not worried by the competition for first-team places and believes that having star names in the team only motivates him to fight hard to win a starting berth.
While talking to the reporters, Cigarini said, “I’ve got back into the international set-up and I now don’t want to lose this shirt in the future. I know that it will be hard to find space in the side because I have monuments in front of me like Andrea Pirlo, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Riccardo-Montolivo-c31049, but I’ll give my best.”
The former Italian U-23 star admitted that he had no problems settling in the team as he has previously worked with most of them. Cigarini is planning a talk with Prandelli before the match and added that he has good understanding with the boss.
“The squad here is stupendous; I know almost everyone and I’ve had no problems settling in. I still haven’t spoken at length with boss Cesare Prandelli, but we know and understand each other. There won’t be any problems.”
The former Sevilla star worked with the Italian boss during his Parma days and Prandelli rates him highly. The Italian has had an unsettling time of late and was loaned out to several teams in the past two years.
Cigarini is extremely happy to play for Atalanta and wants to help the club in achieving more success.
