  1. Buy one and join the FUN.

  2. That's the beautiful thing about living in america. People get to ride around in cigarette boats, high performance cars, loud airplanes, etc. There is really nothing you can do about this.

  3. They do make a lot of noise but I don't think there is much you can do about it if you choose to live in an area so close to a marina.  If they are obeying the rules about how they operate their boats in your area, there is nothing you can do.  You can check to see if there are any bylaws about the operation of the boats.  I know that they do make a lot of noise, and burn huge amounts of fuel.  Best of luck with finding a resolution to your problem.

  4. If they are obeying the speed limits and regulations set by your local Wildlife Protection/Marine Services bureau, then there is nothing you can do about it. You're just asking for it when you live 100 ft. from a marina, too. Those performance boats don't put any more pollution in the water than a normal bow rider would, either. In fact, most boats made after 2000 carry either a 2-star or 3-star (some four cycle outboards carry 4-star) emissions ratings (making them cleaner than your car). Also, believe me when I tell you that the second you begin causing problems with these boats, you'll only cause yourself more grief in the long run. Just take it as a sign of the times, and heck, maybe even get a ride in one of those performance boats and see what all of the hype is about. I own a 31 ft. Formula, and let me tell you, it's a blast!

  5. if you live a 100' feet from a marina loaded with cigarette boats you must have a nice house, so lucky you, and no- you cannot do anything about it unless you move.  You will not get hearing problems from the boats unless you are working on them.  If you see people throwing trash off of their boats then you could complain about that, I would tell you to write or letter or something but after seeing your spelling, i would have someone else do it for you...I am curious as to how old you are.

  6. If it is a Manatee Protection Area there is a lot you can do.  Boats and speed limits are severely restricted in these areas by Federal and State Law.  The restrictions vary somewhat depending on the area but none of them would allow offshore racers (that was the intent of the Donzi, Cigarette, etc design)  to test their engines.

Reduce the speed and the Cigarettes will purr.  Although they may also be required to have a propeller guard.

There are many Federal, State and NPO's you can report them to.  Thanks for noticing.  These beautiful creatures, distant cousin of elephants, need all the help they can get.

    Good Luck

Note:  Your complaint is noise but the most important issue is the Manatees.  If these boats are 'shaking the building' it's unlikely they are observing any speed restrictions.  Based on what you've said you would be well advised to register a complaint with the proper authorities.  And as Mark suggests, bypass the Marina itself.  If they were interested they would have already dealt with the issue.
