Cigg ash in root beer?

this is a pretty random question but i really wanna know.

Why is it that when i put my ciggarette ash into my root beer bottle, there was a LOT of fizz after words?

was it becuase of the chemicals or something? lol

all soda's fizz up when you put cigg ash into it...i think it has to do with the extreme heat as well as the 40 something cancer-producing chemicals
