Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton happy to see Pro Bowl game intact-NFL News
Cincinnati Bengals’ quarterback, Andy Dalton, who made it to the Pro Bowl as a rookie last year, has welcomed the decision of the authorities to keep the game intact in spite of the criticism it had drawn from fans and commentators over its fast deteriorating
competitiveness.
The National Football League (NFL) had hinted at wrapping up the game after it came under fire over its poor quality from all corners of the football community.
Now both, the NFL and NFL Players Association (NFLPA), are reported to have made a breakthrough in the revised strategy to organise the event in rather professional manners.
It becomes good news to Dalton who had been there last season. Even more welcome for him is that the game will be hosted next year on Jan 27 by Hawaii, once again.
Dalton said:
"It's great that they decided to keep the game around. It is an awesome experience and an honor to get to play in the game. And I'm glad they kept the game in Hawaii. It's a great reward at the end of the season."
The player was added to the Pro Bowl roster as a replacement for New England Patriots’ quarterback, Tom Brady.
His rookie year’s performance consisted of 58.1 percent (300) of 516 passes competed for 3,398 yards. He also had 20 touchdown passes and 13 interceptions to his record.
Following criticism of the quality of the Pro Bowl game last year, Dalton was one of the few players and members of the pro game community who came into defence of the game.
He said:
"I don't think you saw the receivers going any slower than they normally would. The pass rush is obviously lacking quite a bit but as a quarterback you like that. It's not like a normal game. Guys don't want to get hurt when you are enjoying the time out
there."
Now he is happy that the game remains intact and only his performance next season should prove his credentials for another Pro Bowl selection.
