Cincinnati Bengals aim to raise playoff chances as they face Kansas City Chiefs – NFL Week 11 Preview
Cincinnati Bengals hope to continue their fantastic return to form as they take on Kansas City Chiefs in Week 11 tie on Sunday, November 18, 2012, at Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, MO.
Bengals (4-5), who currently stand third in the American Football Conference (AFC) North are coming off a surprising 31-13 victory over reigning champions New York Giants in Week 10.
They will certainly look at this game as the opportunity to increase their chances for qualifying into the playoffs.
The game against Chiefs will start a chain of games for Bengals against the teams that are currently standing with a losing record.
However, the team is not taking the task easy. Talking about the Bengals schedule for coming weeks, wide receiver A.J. Green said:
"We can't look past anyone. This is the last part of the season and I feel like the game we had last Sunday gave us momentum. The best momentum to have is in the second half of the season."
On the other hand, Chiefs are playing for pride and going on the field with intent to play competitive football.
Chiefs (1-8) are currently going through a tough period as the team has lost their last six games.
However, Chiefs gave a much better performance against Pittsburgh Steelers in which the offence took the lead for the first time.
The game went into overtime during which Chiefs lost the game 13-16. According to the Associated Press, Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel said:
"We're disappointed about the final result, but I really think our team played a much more competitive game overall than we have been playing. We had some opportunities to win the game, but there are things we have to polish up and get correct so we can
win the game."
Chiefs will have their starting quarterback Brady Quinn available for the game after the player got cleared for contact. Yet, Crennel has indicated that the team will continue to start with Matt Cassel on Sunday as a precautionary measure.
No matter which quarterback starts for Chiefs, he will not have a good support from wide receiving corps as wide receivers Jon Baldwin and Dwayne Bowe are likely to be unavailable for the game due to injuries.
Meanwhile, Bengals will start with their in-form quarterback Andy Dalton who put up his career-best performance against Giants after scoring four touchdowns.
Dalton will have the benefit of facing a meagre Chiefs defence that has given away 157 points in last six games.
Bengals will get a boost on both sides of the game as wide receiver Marvin Jones and safety Reggie Nelson are likely to be available. They will play at the Arrowhead Stadium for the first time since the 2007 season.
