Cincinnati Bengals receiver A. J. Green likely for Sunday game – NFL News
A good news has come in the way of the Cincinnati Bengals to keep alive their hopes for a wild card berth in playoff this season as their injured receiver A.J.Green confirmed on Wednesday to have made a significant improvement
in recovery from his shoulder injury.
Green had been injured in the Bengals game against St. Louis Rams and has not played a single game or practice since. However his latest recovery hopes have given the Bengals boost just before their preparations for next two games.
They are in must win scenario to make it to playoff this season.
"I'm doing good," Green said, elevating his arm. "Just a little sore but better than I thought. I actually can move my arm some, so it's good."
The Cincinnati Bengals with the score of 7-7 in the American professional football league, National Football League (NFL), need to win their next two games to hope for a wild card berth.
They are behind the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers in the American Football Conference (AFC) north division. They face a tough road to playoff given that any of these two teams will end as a runner up and qualify for
the wild card chance.
The Bengals also face New York Jets, New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans as their competitors in the wild card race. They will need to closely monitor those games as well.
It is pertinent to note that with A.J.Green in their side they have always made it to big plays, and the team hopes this time again that A.J. Green’s recovery and playing for them will help them on the way to playoff.
"I think we're trying to find ways to get him the ball," quarterback Andy Dalton said. "He can do it all."
Their coach Marvin Lewis however thinks that the side will need to workout on avoiding of their mistakes. He said it was essential that they need to come out with a game plan.
"I think if we wanted to go out and throw it 40 times, we'd throw it 40 times and feel pretty good about it," Lewis said. "But the goal is to win the football game and if we don't have to throw it 40 times, I think we're better
served to run it 40 times."
The Bengals which had managed to pull off victories against some good oppositions at start of the current season went down in the later part and lost to comparatively smaller opponents.
