Cincinnati Bengals speak of all positive about their performance in regular NFL season – NFL News
The Cincinnati Bengals who emerged out of blue to claim last wild card to playoff this season have spoken positive of their performance in the regular season of the National Football League (NFL).
Into the first week of the playoff season the Bengals are up against the Houston Texans for a wild card game this Saturday and remained hopeful of a better performance.
The Bengals finished the regular season 2011 with the score of 9-7 on the league’s overall standings. A similar show-off was given by the Tennessee Titans but positions on the points table developed to such a way that suited the Bengals chances.
However, their losses against good positions remained their main concerns throughout the season. They lost all their games against the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers, the two competitive sides that fought till end for the divisional title.
"It's just unfortunate that we're losing to some of the better teams," Peko told The Associated Press on Tuesday. "We've been in each of those games, a play or two away from winning those games. But we're just happy around here that we're in the dance and
have to now prove to the world that we belong here."
It was probably the only difference in the performance of these sides. They at one stage were neck to neck for the American Football Conference (AFC) north title.
However, from third quarter of the season onward the Bengals were left behind in the chase for the division title.
They were down to a stage that making it to playoff had become difficult for them. Their wins in last couple of games however secured their place into playoff.
One of the key strengths that favours the Bengals over the Houston Texans is their ability to recover late in the game.
They have managed to pull off wins through their late comeback in a number of games in which they were clearly on the losing course in the first half.
Meanwhile, their opposition the Texans are on a three-game losing streak while coming out of the regular season and have recently been hit by the injuries problems.
The side has lost two quarterbacks and a wide receiver to injuries, and they are uncertain about the chances of their rookie quarterback T.J. Yates for the weekend game. This could end up into the favour of the Bengals giving another lucky chance in the
postseason.
