Cincinnati Bengals vs Houston Texans: CB Johnathan Joseph finds the latter better team in all terms
Cornerback, Johnathan Joseph, ended five-year relationship with the Cincinnati Bengals last year to become a part of the Houston Texans, and it is not just that the player changed the sides, he has shifted his loyalties too, finding the new team to be more
caring and considerate of their players.
Johnathan signed a five-year, $48.75 million deal with Texans. This includes $23.5 million guaranteed. After spending a year with the team, which is marked with a sizable performance, he says of the new organisation:
"The first thing about Houston is it's an organization run from a different perspective. In Cincy, the team lives off money it earns from football. Houston's owner has other business interests and he controls the money."
He also clarified that Texans is not the organisation, which he happened to find as the next destination following the exit from Cincinnati, but as a matter of fact he arrived there as a choice.
The CB said a number of teams were interested in signing him. They include the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Oakland Raiders and Detroit Lions, but he preferred Texans over them.
Now he says his choice has served him well since arriving in Houston. The main quality of the new employers he has spoken of is that they are a very caring organisation and take care of needs of their players and even their families.
He said:
"They help with anything you ask of them because they are a very caring organization with positive attitudes about its players. In Cincy, we're told how much Gatorade we could take home. In Houston, we get what we request. You get soap and deodorant at your
request. You don't have a roommate on road trips."
Since arriving in Houston, Joseph’s career has also progressed to new heights. For example, he earned the honours of Pro Bowl nomination for the first time.
He has also hit new roads in the financial benefits. Most importantly, he finds the team a right fit to his career progression and that too with a peace of mind as far as off- field issues are concerned.
