Cincinnati Reds defeat Atlanta Braves 2-1 – MLB Recap
The Cincinnati Reds defeated the Atlanta Braves 2-1 in the third game of their four-match regular series encounter on Wednesday, May 23 at Great American Ball Park, Cincinnati in 2012 Major League Baseball season and took the series away in style 3-0 with
one game to spare.
Third base Todd Frazier played well for the Reds as he made one run and one important RBI.
"I knew when I hit it that I got a lot of it," Frazier said. "I was hoping it was enough. It just got over. Fine with me."
Braves starter Tommy Hanson proved real disaster as he went with one run and four hits and one earned run.
"Tough loss, But there's only so much you can do, It kind of (stinks) to see that ball go into the first row and that's how the game is determined. But that's the ballpark we're playing in, and we have to deal with it." said Braves starter Tommy Hanson who
could not in right areas and hammered by the Reds batters.
On the other hand, the Reds starter Bronson Arroyo played a balanced game for his team. He went with one run and struck out seven Braves batters.
"When he got that ball up, you knew it had a chance, especially in this ballpark," Reds manager Dusty Baker said for his team’s win and for his starting pitcher who played well and earned a great win for his team.
In a low scoring game, the Braves could not hold the level of pressure which was needed to stay at top of their game instead gave too many loop holes to the Reds who eventually won the game in style.
With this win, the Reds improved their win loss record to 24-19 and also improved their winning percentage of .558. They have one more game to play against the Braves on Thursday, May 24 which is also important to determine their latest standings in National
League Central Division.
In the meanwhile, despite the series loss, the Braves are now at second position in the National League East Division with 26-19 win loss record while their winning percentage is also consistent at .578.
