Cincinnati Reds hammer Milwaukee Brewers 6-2 – MLB news
Cincinnati Reds hammered the Milwaukee Brewers 6-2 in the third game of their three-match regular series encounter on July 10 at Miller Park in Milwaukee.
The Res played wonderfully throughout the game and won in style. They started well and finished the game on high note by hammering the Brewers with big force.
“It would have been a graveyard in here if we didn't pull this one out, It wasn't the best game I've pitched, They made me work and they were aggressive towards me. That was one thing that worked to my advantage. I made some pitches when I needed to, to
get out of jams. They put some pressure on me,” Leake said.
Reds’ batters and pitchers played much offensive and never allowed the Brewers to take any advantage. Especially their upfront batters played a key role in the Reds’ win.
“I think there's improvement there from the other two starts, but still some things he needs to work on,” Milwaukee manager Ron Roenicke said.
Centre fielder Shin-Soo Choo scored two runs on three hits. He played well on his four at bats while he also maintained his slugging percentage at .455.
“I didn't think he was going to make it, because they were hitting the ball hard off him,” Reds manager Dusty Baker said.
Shortstop Zack Cozart scored two runs on four at bats. He played well against the Brewers’ hitters and maintained his slugging percentage at .358.
First baseman Joey Votto also did a good job on the mound as he scored one run on one hit. He batted well on his three at bats while he managed to maintain his slugging percentage at .506.
Right fielder Jay Bruce also batted well on the plate as he scored one run on two hits. He also ran for two RBIs on his .497 slugging percentage while he also managed to maintain his slugging percentage at .497.
Along with batters, the Reds pitchers also played wonderfully and helped their team win an important last game of the series.
Reds’ pitchers pitched in right areas and won in great style. Starting pitcher Mike Leake pitched 8.1 innings and allowed two runs on four hits. He struck out two while he maintained his ERA at 2.69.
