Cincinnati ohio and cicadas?

i live in sharonville in cincinnait, ohio and the cicadas are soo annoying and messing up my summer plans....does anyone know when they should be gone?

  1. Hey! I live in Sharonville too! They should be gone by the 4th of July. Yeah, they are totally irritating! I can't wait for them to be gone!


  2. be patient...3-4 weeks and they should move on beyond you...as for staying gone,forget it. Each female is capable of being responsible for around 40,000 next hatching!....busy little booogers huh?

  3. Cicadas are only alive for around 30-50 days after they emerge. During this time they reproduce like crazy to ensure the next generation of their kind. Depending on when you first saw them in your area, but they should definitely all be gone in another month.

  4. Are they out again?  They will annoy you all summer long, but i didn't think it was time for them to come up out of the ground in hoards like they do every so often yet.  If that's the case, it really should only last a few weeks then they'll just be dead everywhere.  Otherwise... if it's just the noise that's bothering you... get used to it.  How long have you lived in OH?
