Cindy McCain

Oscar de la Renta dress: $3,000

Chanel J12 White Ceramic Watch: $4,500

Three-carat diamond earrings: $280,000

Four-strand pearl necklace: $11,000–$25,000

Shoes, designer unknown: $600

Total: Between $299,100 and $313,100

Wow! No wonder McCain has so many houses: his wife has the price of a Scottsdale split-level hanging from her ears.

  1. I dont see your point.  Am I supposed to begrudge someone because they have been successful in life??  Cindy McCain inherited some of her money from her father, along with the beer distribution business that he owned.

As for the "pregnant princess" and her comment.  I will have her know that Cindy McCain has contributed much time and money to the cause of special needs children.  Also, I would like to ask her how much money or time SHE contributed to ANY cause....I suspect that to be a big fat zero.

  2. LOL, you think that stuff belongs to her? No, they were loaned to her the same way movie stars wear clothes and jewels at an event like the Oscars.

Are you people in capable of actually thinking for yourself or even doing your own research?

  3. I have no problem with the McCain's being ridiculously rich. I wish I were ridiculously rich.I have no problem with Cindy McCain wearing an outfit worth about what my house was before the slump. I don't care what any of them wear, I care what they say and do.

Cindy McCain, in all her splendor, should have prefaced the introduction of her stepchildren by thanking their mother -  the one that raised them alone in their formative years. Her "wonderful husband and father" was married with children and a newly crippled wife when she started 'dating' him. That's not compassion. It's disgusting. It's shameful, and its a fundamental testament to their lack of integrity and character.

  4. nothing

they are one and the same

    that is sickening though

    they were probably conflict diamonds

and think of all the productive things

that could have been done with that money

and all the rest of the millions

spent on this circus of an election

  5. Elitism, to me means a state of intellectual superiority, the rich are just a bunch of greed heads.

  6. Really, if you were that rich...

I'd have two houses...14 cars...not that big on clothes, actually...tons of electronics...jet boots...a huge carbon foot print...

Are you feeling jealous of her?

You shouldn't--she's married a guy a lot older than her.

look at John Kerry; he married a ketchup heiress.

How many houses do the clintons have? and she's, what, 10 mill in debt from this year?

In the last 2 decades, in order to be a heavyweight candidate, ya gotta have dough. I hate that it works that way, but it hasn't changed. Except for palin and obama. They're not extremely rich. Yet

  7. Don't you wish you actually served your Country and strived to make a living or are you just jealous

  8. I imagine you could buy a modest home with that sum of money.  She epitomizes tackiness and excess.

  9. So what?  What do you guys think Obama is some kind of pauper?

  10. They have money coming out of their as*es but do you ever see them trying to help someone with that money they earn, NO!

  11. According to Republican cons the difference is a state of mind. You can be an elitist according to them if you're poor but think highly of yourself. And on the other hand you can be very rich like the McCains and supposedly be modest about it.

So in other words the cons are very offended and threatened by someone who is relatively less well off but thinks highly of themselves but it's perfectly alright to be rich and CLAIM you're not an elitist.

  12. I know that Cindy McCain is much richer than Obama, but from my perspective, Obama and McCain are both filthy rich. Michelle Obama makes like $300,000 a year. I'm not exactly feeling sorry for the Obamas.

  13. Did she get a nose job too? My, she is so ugly.

  14. Read the disclaimer: "All prices except Laura’s shoes and Cindy’s watch are ESTIMATES, and the jewelry prices are based on the ASSUMPTION that the pieces are real." (emphasis mine)

EDIT: I'd like to know how they (Vanity Fair) came up with $280k for the earrings. One of the commenters, who claims to be a diamond dealer, calls that figure "ridiculous," putting them at 60k "at most," and the 3-carat diamond earrings in this story are only 20k:

  15. I'm a Republican and if I had 5 times the wealth of Bill Gates and I knew my spouse had spent that kind of money for the stuff on that list she'd be spending her money on a crib because she'd go from mine. By the way the McCain's have done an unlimited amount of good things for needy people including bringing 2 home and adopting them when they were in dire straits. Cindy McCain has been active for years with such things. And, 300 large in my area would buy a very nice house. I'm a Wrangler/Justin wearing type person.

  16. There is a difference. I'm sure the mcCain's believe everyone can sieze the opportunities that got them to where they are (with a little hard work, that is). The elitist believes that only a select few should be privvy to extravagance, with everyone else dependent on the gov't.

If Cindy's got the bucks to spend on that kind of stuff, it's her choice. Shouldn't you people who are so into the word "choice" understand this?

  17. There are a lot of rich people in this country and there are a lot of elitist in this country. The difference is, you don't have to be rich to be elitist, but you do need to be rich to be rich.

Elitist think they are better than everyone else and make a spectacle of themselves in the process, by letting their arrogance show 24/7.

  18. As the commercial says, "Priceless."

  19. And just look how much better she looked in her lime green outfit compared to Michelle's avocado green Wal-Mart clearence dress.

  20. All that money and the dress still looked ugly. What a shame. lol :-)
