Cinergy Health Insurance????

Is anyone on this already? What do you think about it? Will they cover you in another state than what you reside in? Thanks!

I’m not familiar with Cinergy, but if you want to get information on the reputation of a health insurance company, there are a couple options.  First, you might try to look up that company’s AM Best rating.  An AM Best rating is a measurement of the financial strength (and hence reliability) of an insurance company.  Generally, it’s a good idea to find a company with an “A” rating.  Another thing to look at is customer ratings.  I work for a company called eHealthInsurance and on our website (eHealthInsurance.com) you can compare plans from leading insurers in your area and apply for coverage online.  We also encourage people who purchase through us to write customer reviews of their health insurance plans.  Something like that might be helpful for you.

Cinergy offers a discount health plan and some life insurance products but they do not offer a true comprehensive major medical plan.

Most major medical plans will offer lifetime maximum coverage of $2 million or more with a maximum annual out of pocket of $5,000 or so.

Cinergy's discount plan will give you a discount on certain health care services of up to 50%.

Example: If you develop cancer and your ongoing medical fees are $50,000 monthly for a year then with a comprehensive major medical plan with a maximum out of pocket cost of $5,000 then you will pay a total of $5,000 for the year and the insurance company will pay the rest. In the same scenario if you have a discount card offering 50% off then you will be responsible to pay $25,000 a month or $300,000 a year in medical bills.
