Circolo Golf Club to host Italian Open 2013
Circolo Golf Club Torino in La Mandria will be hosting 2013’s Italian Open. The 70th edition of the Italian Open will be hosted here at the Torino Club for the second time, the first being decades back in 1999.
Edoardo and Francesco Molinari, the brothers who practically grew up golfing in the quaint club, were delighted by the news.
"I am delighted that the Italian Open is going to be played at Circolo Golf Torino in 2013. I learned to play golf there".
The Club is tactfully situated close to the Royal Park I Roveri. The Park has been home to the Italian Open for a semi-decade now but the organisers said it was time to branch out to greener pastures, such as the Golf Club Torino.
Nevertheless, they praised the Park’s management and owners for everything they have done to make the Italian Open an enticing affair these past few years..
They hoped that the debut at the Torino in La Mandria will be impressive and live up to the promise it has.
Francesco Molinari expects the 2013 Italian Open to be played here will be a nostalgic walk down memory lane.
To the brothers Edoardo and Francesco, Golf Club Torino is home turf where they first learned the little things about golf – how much energy to put in a swing, what kinds of drivers work the rough best, and the like.
"It is a great golf course and I'm sure all the players will enjoy the challenge. All the members will welcome The European Tour and hopefully it will be a memorable edition of the Italian Open".
The Italian Open has long been a mainstay in the European Tour’s scheme (which undoubtedly refers to the European Tour International Schedule) since the early 1970s.
The Championship Director of the tournament, Jamie Birkmyre said that he looked forward to the play in September week of 19-22.
"The Italian Open has long been one of the highlights of The European Tour International Schedule and we are delighted by the news that it will be held at Golf Club Torino in 2013".
