  1. no the idiots above me have no idea...

sometimes they will allow u to get store credit only if they can find proof of purchase...sometimes managers can make exceptions

cameras, camcorder, printers, laptops, and desktops have a 15% restocking fee if open, regardless if it's defective or not, unless swaped out for something of equal or greater value...

and dont tell them its broken cuz then its not resellable and there just giving u free money...if its unopened and its a product they sell in the store u have a better chance of getting store credit...if its defective or open they will say no...

  2. Their policy depends on what the gift was, and a couple of other factors.

If you don't have a receipt or gift receipt and the item is on sale for less than $99 (or was recently), you will only get the sale price in store credit.

Regarding restocking fees, there is a general policy associated with electronics but it can be negotiated with individual store managers.  Digital cameras, camcorders, desktop PCs, notebook PCs, monitors, printers, scanners, projectors, PDAs, mobile video, GPS and radar detectors are subject to a 15% restocking fee if returned opened or in a non-factory sealed box.

By the way, if you tell them that the reason for return is that something wasn't working correctly, they will swap it with a working model and you won't get the store credit that you are evidently looking for.

  3. say it does not work.....if you say it is fine they will charge you a resocking fee which is like 10% of the cost or something insane like that.......if it is said to be broken or in poor condition then they view it as a problem of theirs and will take it back.

Although if all you are looking for is store credit then they may not charge you that fee.  but i'm not sure.  Whatever it is just say it was not working properly, you have already replaced it and are now returning the broken one.......Good Luck
