Circular saw no longer cuts straight?

My circular saw doesn't want to cut in a straight line anymore. Anyone know what would cause this?

Replacing your blade with a good quality carbide tipped  blade will do the trick.

1- plate is not tight, causing saw to be on slight angle,

2- loose or dull blade

Blade is dull. If you look at a saw blade you will see (generally) the teeth alternate from side to side.

If the teeth on one side get dulled then the blade will want to wander / cut in only one direction.

Either resharpen or replace the blade.

Dull blade, bent blade, bad bearing or operator error.

Another thought other than dull blade would be the bearing is worn.. Mine did what you were describing and the bearing was the culprit... It was time time to get a new one for me anyways. Just a thought,,,

Sometimes, a dull blade will be sharper on one side.  In this case, the cut will want to stear towards the sharper side, causing a non-straight cut.  Remedy--New blade.
