Question:

Circumcision: Is it a human rights issue?

It is well known that the male f******n, or prepuce, is the principal location of erogenous sensation in the human male. Removal of the prepuce substantially reduces erogenous sensation. Therefor, in some cultures it was seen as making the man "pure" through sacrifice of "sinful" human enjoyment. Later, since people rarely bathed thousands of years ago, it was found that males without their f******n were getting less infections. Hence, circumcision became more widespread.

Today, the majority of us knowing how to bathe properly, it is very rare for any man to get an infection due to improperly cared-for f******n. We are aware of the complications of f******n removal-- infant death, infection, and after the person becomes an adult, loss of sensitivity among other things. Many countries have banned it as an unnecessary medical procedure on par with female genital mutilation. Both can do irreparable damage, and both cause massive loss of feeling.

The body modification world-- those people who pierce, brand, tattoo and otherwise modify their bodies-- are against any genital mutilation preformed anyone under the age of 18. As you might not know, body mod enthusiasts are strictly against anything major preformed on a minor or anythingpreformed on anyone that is unable to give their consent-- especially babies. We don't even like mothers piercing their babies'/childrens' ears until they're old enough to ask...among the many risks of piercing guns (look it up if you want) it's a human rights issue. The baby didn't ask to get her ears pierced, so what gives anyone the right to force her to?

No one should be forced to have any part of their body modified unless it is detrimental to their health. To date, conclusive studies show that circumcision on both males and females is harmful and unnessesary. It doesn't do any good for the baby...unless you're planning on not teaching your kid how to wash properly. Also, it takes away many nerves that affect the sexual experience. How could anyone willingly deny their children (when grown adults, obviously) the right to feel all the pleasure that nature intended?

What do you think? Should human rights weigh out against vanity? hould this be illegal in the US so we can catch up to more human-rights endowed nations?

  1. I totally agree with you.

  2. If god had wanted us to enjoy s*x, he wouldn't have made it so messy

  3. It's hard to answer this question. But I prefer not having circumcision and I think parents should let their kids to decide whether they should circumcise or not, but not decide this for them before they grow up. It's immoral to me.
