  1. actually American's don't do it anymore. 51 percent of babies born in the USA last year were NOT circumsized. It is an archaic and religious practice and an unnessisary surgery for you child. Let alone little boys lose 70% of sexual nerves in the f******n through this practice. Most of Europe doesn't do it. We seem to follow them. As long as you teach your children how to properly clean there p***s (starting at age 5 because the f******n is not fully developed to be pulled back before then) it is best to leave it there!

  2. In Europe it is unheard of unless it is for religeous (or emergency medical) reasons.  Until I came on this site I thought that you were only allowed to have it done for religeous reasons.  It would never had entered my head that anyone would put their baby boy through a procedure like that for purely cosmetic or the out dated belief that it is more hygienic.  I find it very disturbing that a Developed, educated country would still allow this practice for those reasons.

  3. Most people have mentioned Europe as one of the countries where circumcision is not commonly practiced, as well as Australia and New Zealand.  I didn't see anyone mention Canada,Central and South America or the Caribbean islands, however, the circumcision rates in these countries are also low.  It is easier to mention the countries where circumcision is practiced because it is part of the culture and/or because of religious beliefs; for instance, All muslims and jewish believers practice circumcision in order to adhere to the religious requirements based on the the Old Testament in the Bible and the scriptures from the Koran.

In the Philipines, circumcision is practiced as part of the culture.  When a filipino boy turns 10-12 years of age they are circumcised per the country's customs.

In Africa, different tribes practice circumcision on young boys as a rite of passage from boyhood into manhood.

he U.S. is the only country where circumcision is practiced for mainly cosmetic reasons, although many people who promote circumcision will justify their preference using the health and hygiene issues as their motivating reasons.

The U.S. is one of the only countries in the world where we are taught to believe that we need to have perfect bodies and looks in order to be accepted by society as normal, and that if we a re a bit "different", it's not acceptable or considered "weird"......Go Figure.

My parents are originally from Europe (Spain) and even though I was born and raised in New York City, my parents kept true to their cultural roots and did not have me circumcised when I was born....I am grateful for that decision.

    Best of Luck!

  4. I'm not circumcised thankfully I have a natural p***s which is natures best? Do people really know why they want a child circumcised except from a bunch of tales or maybe it's a family tradition?

We always think that we know better than nature with out limited knowledge, and have the whole world in a load of c**p with that kind of thinking.

It's about the boys future s*x life and not about somebody's fashion whim...or to make it look like Daddy's.

Circumcision is on the way out in the US and not coming in. In Canada, it has gone out even more. Europe does not do it, nor does Australia or (UK...where it started to North America during the Victorian Era for les noble reason than you might imagine).

It is the heritage of the Jewish and Arab men, dating back to Abrahams covenant, and because of Abraham, Islam has also picked it up. Abrahams son Isaac lines into the Jewish people, and his son Ishmael lines into the Arab people and Islam. It was brought to Egypt by Joseph, and also by Islam.

I'm 24, happily married since 22, I have a natural p***s because my Mom is from European back ground and know better about the natural p***s. She could see no true reason for changing and saw it as a cruel and painful form of body mutilation, which it is, and also a lessening of my sexual pleasure as a man....After all, who ever considers that a little boy grow up to be a functional man!! ...Forbid!! Hahaha!

I never had a problem, and the highest percentage of natural guys don't. If anything with it was to be changed, it would be a loss to us as to the amount of pleasure that I experience as well as the amount of control that I have from being able to feel everything. The f******n has protected the head of my p***s, keeping it at maximum possible sensitive, and a membrane with the nerve receptors at the surface instead of dry multi layered skin covering them over. Circumcised guys will give me a thumbs down and argue my point, but physics alone supports me. They will use cleanliness as an excuse to circumcise, but every one needs to wash including Ladies who also have hidden intricate places... What they are, needs to be best, and I don't blame then for feeling that way!!!

In being the same type of creature that your son is, I thank you on his behalf if you don't do it, because he isn't able to know the difference or tell you yet. The way he will be born will be perfect, and un-tampered with by any of mans crazy notions.

Some cultures circumcise Ladies to by removing their Labia and clitoris and say that it's for reasons of cleanliness in those hidden intricate places. Both types of circumcision make equal nonsense!

There is a group of people with a perverse notion, bent on reducing the males ability for sexual pleasure before he is able to defend himself, with an adamant determination.

Circumcision should really be the choice as a man in the first place, and not something hanged on him so that he isn't able to do anything about it.

    Me! :- )

  5. I live in Scotland and you have can have you baby circumcised for free on the NHS but a doctor will not refer your baby for the procedure until after he is 1.

My son was circumcised at 3 mths and I took him to a surgery near London and paid for the procedure privately. It cost £140.

  6. In Australia less than 14% of newborn boys are circumcised. The rate has dropped from 75% in the late 1960's.  This is by reason that our health organisations have considered that there is no medical reason for it.

Interstingly, back in 1930 the rate was about the same as it is now... somone back then said that having a circumcision would stop the boy from masturbating ... which we know is just silly.

In Australia, the rate won't get a lot lower than it is now because circumcision is done for the religious ritual of the Abrahamic faiths... that is, the Jewish and Muslim part of the population.

  7. Most European countries don't practice circumcision, it is common in Jewish families though, of course. It's about 50/50 in the US, popularity of circumcisions is declining here.

  8. America most people believe in circumcision but most other countries believe that a boy or guy should not be circumcised.

  9. It's very unpopular here in Australia.

  10. ALL MUSLIM MUST DO IT ,is uncommon in Europe ,China , Australia , and USA 50%

  11. It's actually easier to just point out where they DO practice circumcision, because that list is shorter:

    1) USA

    2) Phillipines

    3) Muslim countries

    4) Most African countries, except for Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Malawi, Rwanda, Botswana and Namibia

    5) Israel

  12. A better question is what places do it, because it's rare worldwide.

The USA does it, but now the rate is only 50% on newborns, Muslim countries do it, and it's done in Israel, the Philippines, South Korea and some African countries. Some older men in Australia are done but it hasn't been common practice to do to infants for about 25 years.

It's not done often in Europe (including the UK), South America, some African countries, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Asia.

It's an unnecessary practice and cruel to babies. I wouldn't do it if I had a son.

  13. It is not a common practice at all here in the UK- thank goodness!

I actually don't know any brits who are circumcised.

  14. I must congratulate, all those people answering about New Zealand,New Zealad has a public health care system which entitles all New Zealand citizens free public health care. Circumcision is not funded in the New Zealand health system at all, circumcision will only be done for medical emergiences, otherwise it will not be done in the health system. Circumcision is not practiced or needed in this part of the world and has been that way since just after world war two. It is considered a barbaric practice against human rights and the UN convention on basic human rights.

New Zealand has education programs in place for parents regarding care for their babies, the f******n comes loose on its own by 3 years of age, should never be forced open, it is attached like your finger is to your nail, parents are taught that washing under the f******n is a normal part of a childs hygienge like anything else, they pass this onto to their child, and children learn how to care for their bodies again in puberty classes and s*x edcuation. You never hear about circumcision or any need for it, education prevents unnecessarcy medical intervention

  15. The United States is the ONLY country where routine infant circumcision is performed, and it is on the decline here-the circumcision rate is only slightly more than half and it is steadily declining, so soon it will be uncommon here as well.

Approximately 1/5 of males worldwide are circumcised, and the majority of them have the alteration because of religious (Jewish/Muslim) or Cultural (some tribes in Africa or ethnic groups in Asia).  The only other reason to have it done is medical, which is actually quite rare.

  16. Circumcision is EXTREMELY RARE in: The United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, The Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Russia, China, Japan, The Carribean, Panama, Ecuador, Guatamala, Columbia, Argentina, Brazil and throughout most of Europe, Asia and South America.

Circumcision is UNCOMMON in: Canada, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand (although a sizable minority do still get circumcised in these countries).

Circumcision is COMMON in: The United States, South Korea, The Philippines, India, Pakistan, Turkey, Syria, Egypt, Nigeria, Chad and several other African countries (although a sizable minority never get circumcised in these countires).

Circumcision is ALWAYS DONE in: Israel, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Yemen, The United Arab Emerites and throughout the middle east. Circumcision is part of Jewish and Arab customs and law.

  17. Most places don't practise circumcision. The UK and the rest of Europe do not circumcise babies (except for religious reasons). Australia and New Zealand likewise and it is becoming less popular in the USA.

  18. Circumcision is uncommon in Europe, South & Central America, the Caribbean and Asia. It is however common in Africa and the Middle East.

The USA is the only developed country that still circumcises 50% of its boys for non religious reasons.

Countries with high prevalence of Judaism and Islam will subsequently have high prevalence of circumcision, because it’s a requirement in those religions.

Here is the list of countries where less than 20% of the male population is circumcised:

UK, France, Japan, Italy, China, Russia, New Zealand, Germany, Spain, India, Brazil, Mexico, Vietnam, Thailand, Austria, Portugal, Greece, Ukraine, Switzerland, Netherlands, Belgium, Colombia, Argentina, Poland, Peru, Nepal, Venezuela, Romania, Iceland, Ireland, Sweden, Swaziland, Bhutan, Malawi, Botswana, Namibia, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Estonia, Latvia, Czech Rep, Hungary, Cyprus, Georgia, Sri Lanka, Chile, Cambodia, Guatemala, Zimbabwe, Ecuador, El Salvador, French Guiana, Panama, Cuba, Zambia, Belarus, Rwanda, Haiti, Bolivia, Burundi, Bulgaria, Honduras, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Laos, Nicaragua, Lithuania, Slovakia, Mongolia, Belize, Dominican Rep, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, Puerto Rico.

  19. it is popular in any non jewish/muslim country and america, the rest of the world it is unpopular and done mainly for medical reasons only

  20. I am from New Zealand and only know of one person that was going to get her son circumcised but ended up deciding against it. I think our generation just isn't as in to it as our parents/grandparents unless it is for medical or religous reasons.

  21. Well, 80% of the world male population is intact, so I would say that circumcision is the exception, not the rule.

As a useless (and even harmful) procedure, its popularity has gone down a lot in the Western world and most circumcisions nowadays are done for religious reasons or in the US.

    Check out the attached link

  22. its so uncommon in england that if you admit to being circumsised you get teased, at least in school anyway

  23. It is unpopular in most of the world.  Only about 20% of the world circumcise.  Most of these circumcisions are down to religion.  The 2 religions that do it are Islam and Judaism.  Two thirds of the circumcised people of the world are Muslim.

In Africa it is a right of passage custom into adulthood.  The newly circumcised boy then has s*x with a girl.  And we wonder why Africa has a high rate of HIV!  Of course there were a few trials done that showed circumcised men were less likely to contract HIV but these studies were highly flawed.  And yet there is a big pro gramme underway to increase the number of Africans that are circumcised - which is scandalous.

In the Philippines they also do it as a right of passage.

In the USA circumcision was not popular until the late1800's.  In Victorian America circumcision became popular to stop boys from masturbating and the practice of mutilating boys has stuck.  Whereas the rate of circumcision in Britain is less than 5%, in America it is still 55%.
