The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 defender has brought an end to the managerial hunt that the Blucerchiati were involved in after their promotion to the Italian top flight.
Sampdoria were given the clearance to talk to Ferrara from the Italian football board, as he was coaching the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 U-21 football team. After a few rounds of negotiations, Sampdoria announced that they would be signing the former
Juventus defender as their head coach for the upcoming season.
He has been given the task of ensuring survival of the club in the top flight of the Italian football. Beppe Iachini guided Sampdoria to the Serie A and was given an extension to his contract due to this feat of his. However, the
Doria board felt that Iachini was not the right man to drive the club forward, and the management’s idea differed with the coach’s ideas.
Sampdoria had been in negotiations and discussion with the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684, however, after a round of discussions
with the club, he felt that his ambition was not supported by Sampdoria and he broke off the negotiations.
The Luigi Ferraris outfit went on to state that the club had reached an agreement with Ferrara and the contract formalities would be finalised in the upcoming days. The club released a statement which read:
“Sampdoria announces that it has reached an agreement, which will be formalised in the coming days, with Ciro Ferrara in the capacity of head Coach for the first team.”
The club also went on to commend done by Iachini and his working staff, and went on state:
“The company wishes to thank Giuseppe Iachini and his staff for their excellent and successful work done in recent months, culminating in promotion to Serie A. Sampdoria give their best wishes to Iachini and his staff and the best
professional and personal fortune for the rest of their careers.”
Ferrara had an unsuccessful stint at his former club, Juventus, in the capacity of head coach, and was fired after failing to provide the desired results.
