Cirrus Des Aigles looking good for King George and Queen Elizabeth Stakes – Horseracing news
Cirrus Des Aigles is considered to be the best contender for winning the King George and Queen Elizabeth Stakes (British Champions Series) (Group 1) at Ascot in England on Saturday, July 27, 2013.
The veteran challenger has been in the sport for quite some time and he has made his team proud on numerous occasions in the past. He is fully aware of how to handle the pressure from his opponents at the highest level of the sport, which allows him to fight
for victories with consistency.
Looking at the current line up at Ascot, the bookies believe that Cirrus Des Aigles will be a tough nut to crack, thus they have given him the best odds for victory. There is no doubt in the minds of the punters too, so they have gambled quite a lot of money
in his favour in order to earn some easy money at the end of the day.
The favourite trainer Corine Barande-Barbe also seems really confident at the moment and said that there is a lot of potential in her challenger. She continued, “I think he may even be a better horse this year, he certainly seems to have got stronger. He's
a horse still on the upgrade rather than the opposite. He came on a lot for the run straight after the race and he has improved again with his work, leaving him exactly where I want him with this objective in mind.”
She went onto say, “The Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud came a bit early as I had given him an easy time while he got over his injury. He was fit enough to run but he wasn't really ready.”
Although Cirrus Des Aigles is considered to be a great stallion, he has been unable to make an impression during this season. He took part in just one race, where he was given the best odds for victory, but ended up in a disappointing position.
Therefore, his camp will be expecting a fight back from him this time around. The conditions at Ascot are good for racing, but the organisers have warned about potential showers right before start of action.
