Cirrus Des Aigles well capable of bouncing back
Cirrus Des Aigles’ supporters should not lose their trust, because the 6-year-old is more than capable of putting his journey back on the winning ways. The Dubai Sheema Classic hero was slightly unlucky in his previous appearance at Longchamp, where his
home crowd saw him finishing second behind Golden Lilac in the Group 1 Prix D'Ispahan in May.
It was just an unlucky day for the big horse, who is set to return to action with a bang in the Group 1 Juddmonte International Stakes (British Champions Series) at York on Wednesday, August 22nd.
No one can doubt Cirrus Des Aigles’ extraordinary racing skills and ability to trounce even the best in business. In the history of horseracing, there are only a few runners, who have produced good result consistently at the highest level, and Cirrus Des
Aigles is among them.
The veteran gelding has been doing an excellent job since his debut in October 2008. The highlight of his career was a tremendous hat-trick that he strike last season.
After winning two Group 3 events in a great fashion, the maverick runner faced no trouble in banging the opposition in the Group 2 Lucien Barriere Grand Prix De Deauville at Deauville in August last year.
He started off his 2012 campaign with a decent performance in the hands of Christophe Soumillon. In the Prix Meydan Hotel, he was runner-up behind Zazou. Despite the fact that it was not a flawless effort, the runner-up spot gave him plenty of confidence.
Bred by M. Yvon Lelimouzin & M Benoit Deschamps, the son of Even Top carried forward his fine work to grab a shocking victory at Meydan. He secured another Group 1 crown, when beating Giofra by staggering eight lengths to bag the first prize in the Prix
Ganay at Longchamp.
So far in his career, the bay gelding has bagged 15 wins and £3,775,525. Owned by Jean-Claude-Alain Dupouy, the French horse has won three Group One events so far, and two of them came outside France.
Since he has a wonderful track record out of his homeland, there is no reason why he should not come up with a bold show in the Juddmonte International Stakes. Without a shadow of doubt, Cirrus Des Aigles will be very hard to beat in the York battle.
