  1. It is a form of Networking

  2. Cisco in IT is well a Corporation that specialize in network equipment especially in corporate level like network bridge, storage, mainframe, router etc... and Linksys is their sister company in domestic market or small network market.

  3. cisco makes all kinds of networking devices such as routers, and switches, so that a person, business or governement can create a computer or system network using their equipment and/or software.  Its usually complex work being a netowork engineer, and it takes a lot of studying to become cisco certified - which is required by many employers.  Maybe look up the certifications like ccna, ccnp or some of the cisco security certifications - that may give you more information.

  4. One of the leading manufacturers of network equipment. Cisco's primary business is in internetworking products, such as routers, bridges, and switches.

  5. Well, here is an informal info on Cisco as per my knowledge.

Cisco is a high rung services and solutions company primarily started as a networking devices manufacturing unit.Later it began to implement entry level examinations for hardware networking and server level fields.

These exams were standardised for other companies as they were considered as yardsticks for fine performance. The rest you might as well know from other sources regarding exams and such.

  6. Hi,

It is a human network. A sort of facebook/myspace for buisness people

  7. Cisco is a company that makes networks, it owns Linksys, and in California it set up an amazing baseball stadium where on an iphone you can see the replays, get a barcode for a ticked and watch the game live,  it wants to make a "Human Network" where everything is digitalized, and your smartphone is your boarding pass for a airplane flight.  You can use webcams everywhere and track people using their phone.  All of the technology is here for this, the just want to put it all together

  8. Cisco is the largest manufacturer of computer networking and ip telephony equipment.  They are know for their innovation and quality.  You are reading about all the Cisco course because many people in the computer networking industry use Cisco certification as a standard to assess someones knowledge level.  There are many Cisco certifications that branch out into very specific fields, such as IP telephony.  Many people in this field start with an entry level Cisco certification, such as CCNA.  The course do teach you how to work with Cisco equipment.  However, in doing so, they have to teach standards of networking so you can understand what you're doing.  Also, it is assumed that if you can configure Cisco equipment you can configure equipment from other manufacturers because the commands used to configure them are similar between manufacturers.

If you want a career in hands on computer networking then Cisco is a great place to start.  Even though you're dealing with hardware, the majority of a network engineers knowledge is in the software or firmware loaded on these devices.

    Hope this helps.
