He told the reporters, “I am very happy in Newcastle and I want to stay there for many years.”

He continued, “I am looking forward to next season. We were close to a Champions League position so next season hopefully we will qualify for that and everyone will taste the Champions League.”
Cisse was arguably the signing of the 2011/12 season as he played a pivotal role in the Magpies sensational upsurge in the second half of the term. He scored 9 goals for Freiburg in 17 appearances before opting to move to Newcastle in January.
He also holds the record of scoring maximum number of goals by any African player during a BundesLiga campaign- a feat he achieved during the 2010/11 season by firing 22 league goals.
