Newcastle United striker Papiss Demba Cisse is hopeful that his partnership with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Demba-Ba-c10812 will be a successful one, and insists that they only need more luck.
The Senegalese striker insists that he can forge a successful partnership with his compatriot, and help Newcastle build on last season’s fifth place finish.
The strike duo featured on the score sheet in the 2-1 victory against West Brom for the first time since Cisse’s debut for the club back in February against Aston Villa.
The striker admitted his surprise at the fact and said:
“It is crazy that we have only scored once together, in our first match. I hope it will change in the next game. We will work on it very hard and make sure we change it as soon as possible. It is not tactical.”
“In the first match together, we played in the same positions. It is not positions or making the runs, it is just the case of having luck on our side.”
Cisse joined the Magpies from German club Freiburg last season in the winter transfer window, and quickly settled in as he scored 13 goals in 14 appearances for the club.
The forward rose to prominence after scoring the stunning volley against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 at Stamford Bridge, and successfully filled the void left by Demba Ba’s departure for the African Cup of Nations.
However, he has failed to replicate last season's prolific form this time around. He looks to be slowly getting there after he scored his first Premier League goal this past weekend against West Brom. He added:
“I’m very happy at Newcastle. Nobody knows what the future brings but I am happy here. The manager is extraordinary. It is incredible to work with him."
Newcastle have seemingly bounced back from the 0-3 home defeat at the hands of Manchester United, managing a draw against Sunderland and a win against West Brom since then.
The team is still struggling to replicate last season’s immense form. However, with quality players such as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hatem-Ben-Arfa-c15884, Demba Ba, Papiss Cisse and Fabricio Coloccini present in the squad, it won’t be long before they find their lost rhythm.
