Newcastle United beat Liverpool 2-0 in a Premier League match at Sports Direct Arena on Sunday.
The Magpies striker Papiss Cisse, who has been on a goal scoring spree lately, netted the ball twice and condemned the visitors to their sixth defeat in their last seven league games. The victory for Newcastle meant that they further consolidated their grip

It was also Liverpool’s third consecutive defeat, losing their last two games against QPR and Wigan Athletic.
The Reds started the match on a good note with Jonjo Shelvey’s shot missing the target after taking a deflection. The Reds skipper then provided a good opportunity for the visitors to open the scoring.

Liverpool pressed forward to get back into the match and Suarez came close to of scoring, but his shot was blocked by the Mapgpies defender, James Perch. But soon the Reds were dealt with another blow when their Spanish goal keeper, Pepe Reina was sent off
in the 83rd minute, after he had head butted Perch. The referee showed him a straight Red for the offence and the 29 year old has been suspended for three matches by the Football Association.
