The newly arrived French defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aly-Cissokho-c5313, downplayed the rivalry between him and fellow countryman, Jeremy Mathieu, and said that there is always a competition between players in major clubs.

The 25-year-old joined Valencia in the summer from the French side, Lyon.
Since his arrival at the club, there have been rumours that the player is in contention with his fellow French left-back, Mathieu, who was out with a tendon injury but is now back to fitness.
The two French players are both left wing defenders which means they have to fight for the same spot in the team.
Earlier, Mathieu said that he was happy that Cissokho joined the club but since he is new to the club and to the Spanish league, he should take his time and be patient.
However, Cissokho downplayed the tension and rivalry between him and Mathieu for the same position in the club.
“He's a fellow countryman. At major clubs there is a lot of competition. He's a great player and there are many games to be played,” he explained.
Valencia have not been performing good lately. Poor performances coupled with mistakes on the pitch are costing them at the moment. Their recent run of poor results has put pressure on coach, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mauricio-c24899 Pellegrino.
Regardless, Cissokho is backing his under-pressure coach and had words of praise for him.
“Pellegrino talks a lot with the players and affects the tactical side of things. I know he will come in handy for me as that is an aspect I needed to improve in,” he admitted.
The player also shared his thoughts regarding the experience of playing his first match for Valencia at Camp Nou, and admitted that it was an experience that he will never forget.
“It was a real challenge, my first match for Valencia, at the Camp Nou against the best team in the world. It's a match that will remain in my memory forever,” he concluded.
Finally, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 will be hoping to put their poor run of form behind them when they host Athletic Bilbao on Saturday, October 20. They are now sitting on the 14th position in the table and are way behind their rivals.
