Citibank is charging to the customers with unauthorised and illegal credit card transactions. this happened with no. of customers. when they ask for details or signed documents, citibank says it will take 90 days to furnish detials. Please respond with your views or with yor other experiance to make the people aware of unfair trade practices at CitiBank

  1. the credit card services of citibank is totally unreliable and i have to switchover to ICICI two years back. citibank debits fraudluent transactions and leave the customer to such a poor state to wait for 90 days. Citibank should be banned


  2. Make a proper compilation of the Card statements and represent with the RBI's Banking Ombudsman of the misrepresentation/ fraud and sue the Bank with penalty rates

    that will be harbinger/ precedent  to other individuals who

    have to go through this process.....

  3. If you read the terms of use for ANY credit card, you will see that if you have a fraudulent charge, there is a dispute process.

    If you see an incorrect charge on your credit card statement, you need to file a formal dispute, meaning putting it in writing.  The credit card company will obtain a copy of the receipt and then ask you for more information about the transaction.  You need to let them know that is a fraudulent transaction by providing detail of where you were when the transaction was made or by stating that is not your signature on the receipt.  Then the charge will be removed.

    This process does take time.  They will not simply remove a fraudulent charge because you say it is a fraudulent charge.

  5. There is no point in blaming the bank, we must be careful. However I am also of the same opinion that citi bank cheats? customers, even though "cheats' is not appropriate term, as we have to blame ourselves. My son went to foreign. I informed the bank, to close the credit card. I did not get any reply. I contacted them. I was informed that I had to pay some more money. I could not understand how may son had to pay as he did not use it. Some insurance amounts were paid without our knowledge. I declined to pay. Nothing happened
