Question:

Citibank Card 146 Days Past Due...Ready to Call Them but Scared...HELP!?

I have a Citibank Mastercard that 146 days past due-total balance is $2278.99 & minimum amount due 7/11 is $1,189.79.For the past year I've been paying them $60 a month. They keep calling but I don't answer.Yesterday my husband got a hang up call from "Unavailable" which Citibank calls from (only know this because I mistakenly answered once the "unavailable" but got scared & said I wasn't available).I don't want my husband to know about my debt so I think its time to call Citicard & see if they will work with me.

I'm scared to call though...I do get an email once a month saying that "i should call because they have all sorts of plans to help repay no matter what your situation is".They sound nice enough but I'm afraid to call.I can only pay $60 a month to them because of other debts that I'm paying.Would they set up some sort of repayment plan?I don't think I'd qualify for a hardship plan as my debt was made by my own stupidity & I have the ability to pay-just not a lot. What do I say?

  1. a friend of mine had citi and the same thing occured with him they were very reasonable and willing to make payment arrangments with him so i say call them and talk to them stop avoiding there calls thats just goign to make it worse .

  2. The worse thing that you can do is not answer there calls.  If you just call and talk to them you will be suprised on how easy and helpful they will be.  Letting this keep going id doing nothing but hurting you in the long run! Just suck it up and call them NOW!

  3. Hi,

I used "Credit Solution" to settle my debt and avoid bankruptcy .They managed to reduce my debt up to 58%.It's legitimate.I came across this company on NBC News Special Edition.Check it out here:

  4. First thing to do is call them and set up a payment arrangement.  The want their money and will work with you as much as possible - but to be honest $60 a month may not cut it ifyou have paid for 5 months..  I think you need to talk to your husband about the debt you are hiding from him as well - if you don't pay the will start calling him to look for you, collection agencies will be sending letters, sueing you and possibly garnishing any bank account your name is on- even a joint account.
