Cito’s last game in Toronto guides the Blue Jays to an inspirational 8-run win (Pt. 4 Final)
The Toronto Blue Jays have been working hard during their last few games and the performance has been great in terms of deliverance. The results in most games have been looked upon as gratifying towards the fans that have flocked to the stadium in low numbers.
To certify the clarity of play displayed by the team in the Rogers Centre, many analysts concur that the nexus of all the positive movement in the park has come from their current manager, Cito Gaston. The skipper has been doing his best to utilize his squad
efficiently and with young players like Travis Snider, the outcome has been favourable.
The New York Yankees, on the other hand have been seriously destitute in their struggle for the division title and the playoff berth. With the latter objective achieved, there is still the matter of availing the American League East Crown. They trail the
Tampa Bay Rays by half a game and it’s understandable that the management doesn’t see the right things mixing in the park.
The main problem for the squad has been the pitchers. Andy Pettitte and Allan James Burnett are superstars in the roster but they’re dip in form has gotten the side to a disappointing situation.
Manager Joe Girardi has turned to many fringe pitchers in the squad and last night’s game saw the induction of Javier Vazquez in the starting role of the ball throwing faction. For the Yankees, that was a risk and it didn’t pay off as they met the Blue Jays
in their season and series finale encounter. Toronto managed to beat the second seeded team with an 8 – 4 score line and pushed the title hopes further down desperation lane.
For Cito the win was a memorable one as his last game in Toronto saw him celebrate with the crowd, following the victory. He was showered with beer and water at the end of the game by his squad. He later recalled on the evening with a short phrase, "What
a way to go out".
For Jose Bautista, who has developed under the manager, and leads the league with 52 home runs, the celebration was gratifying. He appreciated the outpouring of joy over the manager’s accomplishment and said:

"It shows he's a loved man in this town. He brought two championships to this city. He's an icon in Toronto baseball. It was great seeing all the support he was getting from the fans and the love there is for him here. It was awesome".
Looking into tomorrow’s game, there must be a note on who will be the major stars to perform for their team. With the Yankees facing their opponents on the 1st, a preview on Toronto players should be given.
Toronto Blue Jays
Aaron Hill: The first ‘Hill’ to keep your eyes on, tomorrow, will be the one who comes with ‘Aaron’ on the name titles. The in-form batter has given the opposition a lot to think about. His inclusion in the side will not only keep
the focus off Jose Bautista and Vernon Wells but it will offensively open up the options for the team. His 4 Runs Batted In and 2 runs from the game against New York speaks volumes. It has to be seen how the hitter fits into the side against the Minnesota
Twins.
Shawn Hill: The 29-year old right hand pitcher is a figure to closely look at as he is the second ‘Hill’ to be playing in the series starter against the Minnesota Twins. For what it is worth, the player has featured in 3 games so
far and he’s won one of those contests. To top it off, his Earning Run Average sits on 2.81. Toronto will be hoping for the ball thrower to give the team a decent run through the innings for a comfortable victory, tomorrow.
