Hi.

I have a Citreon Xantia 1998 1.9td. When you accelerate the car seems to judder. It only happens when you accelerate OR the engine is understrain. The gear stick wobbles from side to side and the whole body seems to judder. The judder feels worse on the nearside. It is not felt through the steering only through the body. Any ideas ?? Could it possibly be a CV joint and if so how do l check ??

Cheers.

  1. You have a worn engine mounting. Probably the middle engine mount that attaches the engine to the subframe. Although you should check the other two mounts as well.
