Citric acid in halal stores help?

The other day I went to my local halal store and as I was walking by one of the isles I noticed that they sold citric acid in a dry granulated state, I was just curious what is this for I have never seen it before in my life, I know it is some sort of substance used in soda pop and canned stuff, but what is the use given it at home????

  2. Use it with ur drinks. It's yummy! Gives a sharp kind of taste, like oranges or lemons or citric fruit. Keeps them fresh too.

  3. Citric acid is the main tartness in all citrus fruits.. lemons, limes, oranges, grapefruit etc..

    you know if you suck on lemons a lot (some kids like this, with a bit of salt).. your teeth start hurting.. its the citric acid breaking down the enamal on your teeth..

    Some stores sell this in crystalized form to use in cooking, pickling etc..

    you know if you squeeze a bit of lemon on apples or bananas before using in pies etc it keeps them fresher looking and from turning brown, this is the citric acid...

    its completely halal....

  4. Citic acid is used a preservative and to add sour taste to foods. Its used in cooking. Its used for cleaning as well. Its present in Lemon and lemon are often used for treating dry skin.
