City Breaks?

Question

If you had a choice of a city break to any of the following destinations in August, which would you choose?

Athens

Istanbul

Edinburgh (festival week)

Budapest

I've heard Budapest is great.... and cheap when your out there...

However if you can deviate from the list York is the best city I've ever been to (admittedly yet to go to any of the Italian ones) - I was there 2 weeks last summer and only did half the stuff I'd hoped to, there's just so much and the architechture is lovely.

Athens, Istanbul and Budapest will be very hot in AUgust.   I would choose Edinburgh but you will have to book a hotel soon as they will fill up quickly in Festival week

Trouble is with many of the European destinations, many of their construction workers take the whole of August as their annual holidays to avoid working in the heat..( as they do here in Cyprus)..it can get really busy. Maybe go for Budapest?

I amfrom edinburgh so a bit biased but that is what i would vote,the festival is great so much going on and there are lots more things to do round the city.
