City Image confident to win Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Cherry Hinton Stakes (Group 2) (Fillies)
The star trainer Richard Hannon-trained grey filly, City Image, is quite confident to strengthen her image as the invincible runner by winning the Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Cherry Hinton Stakes (Group 2) (Fillies) here at Newmarket racecourse on Friday, July 13. The Class 1 contest will commence at 2:25 (GMT).
On the soft track of 6 furlongs, the two-year-old novice runner will run against 11 strong competitors while pursuing the prize cheque worth £34,026.
The daughter of Elusive City out of Photophore marvellously finished first in her first outing at Windsor. That was the Matt Clegg Memorial Maiden Fillies’ Stakes, held on June 9, 2012. On the 5-furlong soft ground, the fantastic filly showed fabulous performances with the 3-1 favourite tag.
After that event, the P. A Byrne-owned sprinter managed to gain a decent place in the betting market along with hiking her confidence level greatly.
The Patrick Byrnes-bred brilliant runner repeated the same big show in her second start at Newmarket, winning the Acd Projects Supporting The Animal Health Trust, Empress Stakes (Listed Race) (Fillies) on June 30. This time, she defeated the hot favourite rival Sandreamer.
With these two classic conquests, City Image has made herself a rock-solid contender for today’s marathon. She has up to 90 percent chances to thrive.
Almost equally capable to City Image is Sendmylovetorose who too has won both the races of her career. The Andrew Oliver-trained bay filly nicely notched up top spot in her maiden start at Navan on June 9----that was the Lynn Lodge Stud European Breeders Fund Median Auction Maiden over 6 furlongs.
The brilliant daughter of Bahamian Bounty out of Windy Gulch moved forward to win the Grangecon Stud Stakes (Group 3) (Fillies) over 6 furlongs at Curragh on July 1.
Thus, there is bound to take place a tough battle between these two momentous runners. The neck-neck-event will give the spectators an exciting game to enjoy.
At this moment, it is hard to decide who of the duo will thrive but one thing is clear that City Image has higher chances. Let us see who seals the show and how. Good luck to the both contestants.
