League leaders Manchester United were held to a 4-4 draw by Everton at Old Trafford, which revived the title race after Manchester City thumped Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-0, to close the gap on their local rivals to just three points.

The result meant that a win for City in the derby match on the 30th of April will push them to the summit of the league table, as they have a better goal difference then Sir Alex Ferguson’s side. Both the teams will play three more league games
before the season winds up.

Everton started the match aggressively and stoutly defended all the attacks from the Red Devils in the opening half-an-hour.
The Toffees were rewarded in the 33rd minute for their positive approach towards the game, as Nikica Jelavic headed the ball over the United shot stopper into the far corner from an acute angle, to silence the home crowd.
